St. Mary's Christmas Greeting

Wishing you a very happy, healthy and holy Christmas. Please look after yourselves and each other as we head for the spring term and hopefully another time of successful learning and good health. We wanted to share with all parents the link below of our wonderful year 3 children singing ‘Away in a Manger’, which is also available on the Google Classrooms and website.

Parent Consultations - Autumn Term

Dear Parents and Carers,

Parent Consultations: Autumn Term

After much discussion with management and consulting with other schools, it has been decided that due to the current COVID situation we will not be holding Parent Consultation Meetings this term.  However, we do value these opportunities to work together for the benefit of pupil progress and attainment.

We are not currently inviting parents into school other than for those times that take priority for safeguarding or health and safety reasons or discussion of and provision that comes within a dedicated government group.  As an alternative measure this term, staff will continue to make contact as the need arises and for teachers will write a short response your individual enquiries.

In order to work in partnership with parents we are asking for you to list your top two enquires by priority, for the class teacher to consider within the overview; to be completed and returned by Tuesday 3rd November 2020. Teachers will then prepare a brief report to send to each of you in Autumn 2.

We think this is the best way to gather your thoughts whilst also giving you an update for this first half term. For your information we will include an indicator about attainment compared to age appropriate expectations at this point in the year and relevant comments about behaviour and attitude.

Thank you in anticipation of your support and co-operation for this initiative.

Please complete the following and return to the school as a hard copy direct to the class teacher or via the school office by email, stating the class name by Tuesday 3rd November 2020.

Please note if more than 2 queries are listed only the top two will be responded to at this time.

With kind regards

Mrs S Hulme MA, NPQH

Transfer to Secondary School Application - Reminder

Dear Parent or Carer,

As half term is fast approaching I just wanted to remind you to make your child's Transfer to Secondary school applications as soon as possible. The closing date is still the 31st October, which is a Saturday. Therefore there will be no eadmissions online contact available on that day as they operate Monday to Friday 9-6.

The school admissions team also operate 9-5 Monday to Friday but currently have a 5 working day turnaround time on all calls and 10 days on all emails. Therefore if they are contacted with problems and queries in half term they will do their best to get back to families but may not be able to do it before the closing date. Additionally the school is also closed for half term and will not have any staff available for telephone/email queries.

Please can I also remind you may name up to six schools on the form. The schools do not have to be in Sutton, they can be in any borough.

If you have any questions or are having any issues completing your child's Transfer to Secondary school application, please do not hesitate to contact myself or Sutton School Admissions before Friday 23rd October 2020.

Kind regards

Ms Nicol

School Uniform Direct - Uniform Update

OPENING TIMES

Due to reduced customer footfall across all our stores, we have had to amend our opening times.
The new opening times will be reviewed in January.

Appointments:

It is now no longer necessary to book an appointment to come to visit our stores.
We had an extremely successful back to school period using the appointment based system. Many of you may have heard the nightmare stories across the media of School Uniform stores across the country that had 5-hour queues... Including one in Croydon with people starting the queue at 5am in the morning!
We were extremely pleased with our system of appointments which meant that those that did have to queue, also known as ‘Walk-ins’ (as they did not book an appointment), had to wait for an average of 30 mins.
