Parents have responsibility for ensuring their child attends school regularly. When a child is obviously unwell, the best place to be is at home with a grown up. If the illness is infectious, other children and staff may also become ill, so your child must be kept at home. Parents must call the school office on the 1st day of sickness by 9.30am. If on the other hand the ailment is minor please bring your child to school as normal; the school can always contact you if necessary.
Parents must not organise holidays during term time as this disrupts a child’s continuity of learning. Government guidelines do not allow permission for holiday absence in term time so these absences will be recorded as unauthorised. Attendance is monitored regularly by the Local Authority Attendance Officer. Parents will be contacted if attendance becomes a cause for concern.
