Dear Parent or Carer,
Welcome to the St Mary’s Catholic Nursery and Infant School community! As your child will be starting Nursery in September 2020, and due to the COVID-19 outbreak we have had to organise our transition differently this year. Children will firstly have a 1:1 session with the class teacher, (this date will be given in the email attached to this letter) and from then on will come in shorter sessions working up to a full session on Monday 21st September. Please note during the shorter sessions the children will not be staying for lunch. To allow for transitioning we have arranged the children into groups, (please see your email for your child’s group). The dates and times your child will need to attend school are below, these are also available on our website, under Admissions, New starters.
All parents will need to adhere to social distancing when bringing children to and from school. Please be aware of the distancing rule (expectations for adults regarding the wearing of masks will be communicated nearer the time) and although we understand that many parents may have queries for the teacher to answer we request that you wait until the last child has entered the nursery allowing others to enter first keeping in line with the social distancing rules. You are welcome to contact the school office to book an appointment with the class teacher if you have any questions.

It is expected that all children will be attending their full Nursery session by themselves from Thursday 10th September 2020 (please bring a healthy packed lunch, which they are able to open independently) For those children who need more time to settle into the routine, this will be decided on a one-to-one basis in consultation with parents/carers and school.
Yours faithfully
